Duolingo for Schools - A New Tool to Help Students Learn Languages

January 8, 2015
I just learned through an email from Gina  that the popular language learning platform Duolingo released today a new tool called Duolingo for Schools. This tool provides teachers and educators with a  dashboard to track students progress on the popular Duolingo app. It will also identify patterns in the way individuals learn and react accordingly to reinforce areas of difficulty. Duolingo's technological companion for the classroom will help teachers understand each student’s learning needs at a level of detail previously impossible.

For those of you not yet familiar with Duolingo. This is a great web tool and mobile app for learning a new language. Google selected it as the most popular educational app of 2014. Duolingo provides a plethora of translation activities through which learners get to practice their new language. Duolingo gamifies language learning by using a system of rewards for good achievements. It also gives learners the opportunity to translate real-world texts in the language they are learning and thus help other learners.
